| When you have an open form with a curved
inward opening, try this approach, Use a "French curve"
style tool rest to get around the lip. Reverse the banjo and position
yourself on the 'backside of the ways' so you have better control
and vision. This rest is a modified version of one I had John Lee
make for me to get around the corners of large bowls. I also try to
use a steady rest with painters' tape to protect the surface from
bruising as it shows in the photo. |
